Newborn Sensory Box

Newborn Sensory Box

A newborn’s colour perception is limited to white, black and shades of grey, because their eyes and capacity for sight are not fully developed at birth. As a result, babies love to look at high-contrast black-and-white patterns, which stand out in their blurry worlds, attracting their attention and helping them focus.

Research has proven that using high contrasting coloured cards and toys grab the attention of your baby best, whilst stimulating and developing your baby’s eyes and brain. Therefore, we have put together this collection of items that will allow you to create stimulating sensory play at home with your newborn.

Our Newborn Sensory Box includes:
* A black chiffon scarf
* A black and white ribbon ring
* A taggy square
* A soft rattle
* A white ostrich feather
* Bubbles
* A scented candle (to smell, not burn)
* 2 polka dot balloons
* A foil blanket
* 3 double sided back and white cards
* An information booklet explaining more about sensory play, how the items included are beneficial for your child's development, and ideas on how to use the items.

(Please note - due to small parts, constant adult supervision is required for use with all items. Items should be checked for damage before each use.)
